Mina de Llorts is an iron mine in Andorra. I have photographed the surrounding natural areas, and envisioned an immersive photographic installation as a reflection on how we relate to the experience of nature through photography. In this museum piece, nature is there visually in excerpts, but we can´t feel the real experience, breath the air, smell, listen. The photographs intend to make believe we are experiencing nature, but there is an inanimate sensation, akin us experiencing the world through screens. The idea of Plato´s cave and the simulacrum also comes across, as photography highlights the fakeness of an experience. You are surrounded in an artificial natural beauty yet you are not really experiencing it.
